How to Reset Microsoft Store to Fix App Problems

Apps may fail to download, install, or update through Microsoft Store. 

Common Causes 

  • Corrupt Store cache 
  • Account sync issues 
  • Broken Store components 

Step-by-Step Solution 

Step 1: Reset Store Cache 

  • Press Windows + R 
  • Type: 

wsreset 

  • Press Enter 
  • Store will reopen automatically 

 

Step 2: Reset Store App 

  • Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps 
  • Select Microsoft Store → Advanced options 
  • Click Reset 

 

Step 3: Sign Out and Sign In 

  • Open Microsoft Store 
  • Sign out of account 
  • Restart PC and sign back in 

 

Step 4: Re-register Store (Advanced) 

  • Open PowerShell (Admin) 
  • Run re-registration command
