Scammers trick users into sharing their screen to steal credentials or initiate fraudulent transactions. 

Common Causes 

  • Fake support calls 
  • Untrusted remote meeting links 

Step-by-Step Solution 

Step 1: Never Share Screen with Strangers 

  • Microsoft, banks, and ISPs never request screen sharing 

 

Step 2: Disable Remote Assistance 

  • Open Settings → System → Remote Desktop 
  • Turn OFF Remote Desktop 

 

Step 3: Remove Screen Sharing Apps 

  • Uninstall tools like AnyDesk, TeamViewer if unused 

 

Step 4: Monitor Installed Apps 

  • Review installed apps weekly
