How to Create a Windows Recovery Drive and Use It

A recovery drive allows you to troubleshoot and repair Windows when it fails to boot. 

Common Causes 

  • No recovery media available 
  • System corruption 

Step-by-Step Solution 

Step 1: Create Recovery Drive 

  • Insert USB drive (8GB+) 
  • Search Create a recovery drive 
  • Enable Back up system files 
  • Follow the wizard 

 

Step 2: Boot From Recovery Drive 

  • Insert recovery USB 
  • Power on PC 
  • Use boot menu key to select USB 

 

Step 3: Use Recovery Tools 

  • Select Troubleshoot 
  • Access Startup Repair, System Restore, Reset PC
