How to Manage Windows 11 Widgets and Disable Them If Needed

Windows 11 widgets may consume resources or display unwanted content. 

Common Causes 

  • Widgets enabled by default 
  • Background feed updates 

Step-by-Step Solution 

Step 1: Disable Widgets from Taskbar 

  • Right-click the Taskbar 
  • Select Taskbar settings 
  • Toggle Widgets to Off 

 

Step 2: Restart Windows Explorer 

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc 
  • Right-click Windows Explorer → Restart 

 

Step 3: Customize Instead of Disabling (Optional) 

  • Click the Widgets icon 
  • Click Settings 
  • Remove unwanted feeds and interests
