How to Resolve Windows Store App Install and Update Issues

Issue Description 

Microsoft Store apps may fail to install, update, or launch. 

Common Causes 

  • Corrupted Store cache 
  • Account sync problems 
  • Disabled services 

Step-by-Step Solution 

Step 1: Reset Microsoft Store Cache 

  • Press Windows + R 
  • Type wsreset → Press Enter 
  • Store will reopen automatically 

 

Step 2: Run Store Troubleshooter 

  • Open Settings → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters 
  • Run Windows Store Apps 

 

Step 3: Sign Out and Sign In 

  • Open Microsoft Store 
  • Click profile icon → Sign out 
  • Restart PC and sign back in 

 

Step 4: Re-register Store Apps (Advanced) 

  • Open PowerShell (Admin) 
  • Run re-registration command
